Unit died and Cookshack offers zero repair service. They told me to find a local electrician. I asked if they could recommend any and they sent me a google search including Home Depot, Sears Appliance, Best Buy, etc... I called 4 different companies and all refused to service the unit, because they never heard of the brand. How hard would it be to keep a list of 3rd party repair companies for customers, if you are too small of a company to repair yourself. Smoker might be good, but you're 100% on your own if it breaks down.
I have been using a Cookshack electric smoker for over 15 years. This is an early residential non-pellet model with a simple dial heat control. I have used the unit to smoke everything from large cuts such as fresh hams to whole briskets to the usual backyard fare such as whole turkeys to pork ribs. It has worked flawlessly and if it ever wears-out, I would most certainly only select a Cookshack product as a replacement. Thank you for all of the years of the best smoked meats on the block!
Every once in a while your dealings with a company are so positive that you have to find a way to tell the world how great a company they are. That was definitely the case for my dealings with Cookshack. I recently purchased an FEC-100 from them, which is a very large and heavy pellet smoker that arrives by FedEx Freight on a pallet. The smoker was beautifully and solidly crafted right there in Oklahoma and I was proud to have it and display it to my friends and family. Unfortunately, my expectations about the smoke flavor a pellet smoker provides were out of whack. I made the reluctant decision to send it back and I dealt with about 3-4 people during the entire process that were all amazing. This is a top notch American company that stands 100% by their product. You can't go wrong by working with them.
